Hummm...

I’ve decided that I don’t need sleep. I think I’ve gotten used to being on cruise control and in that zombie mode my body switched into eight long months ago. What does being refreshed even feel like? I’m not complaining. Well, I'm not meaning to be. I just want to remember how long it took me to feel like life was “normal” again after having a baby. You know, just for the record ;). I wouldn’t change a darn thing though because it’s so worth it. I do also realize it’s only a matter of time before it all comes catching up to me too. So, for now I’ll go with not getting much sleep. One day I'm sure I'll look back on this time in my life and think, "If only I could go back when Hayes was a baby..."

Chris on the other hand needs more sleep. Oh man, he could use some sleep. Poor kid has been studying his butt off and working so (obnoxiously) hard lately! I have a love hate relationship with his pharmacy school. I love that he comes home and has all these neat stories (that definitely can’t be topped by my stories about baby poop). I love that he is pushing himself and actually seeing how stinking smart he is. I love how he would have given up the first week of class but he sticks with it everyday because he wants to be able to provide for our family.

I hate that he always has that little red mark on his forehead from falling asleep on his laptop. I hate that on the first day of his school they introduced his class to a suicide and marriage counselor. Above all, I absolutely hate that he has to be gone so much.

Speaking of snow (wasn’t I?). Hayes was introduced to his first snow storm the other day. At first he just looked at it with “bird mouth”. No, I’m not being a jerky mom. One of his most popular faces looks like a baby bird waiting to be fed. It’s adorable. Anyway, after a minute of open-mouthed concentration on the little flakes of cold, he decided he LOVES the snow!

In all, we are hanging in here and our little family is doing great!

wow, having a baby sound great! ha i'm a person who doesn't do well without sleep so this should be interesting! Good thing Phil won't have school for the first six week of this babies life so i won't feel bad making him help. :) Cute pic by the way!
