The need for speed

Going somewhere? Here, take the sweet sleeping baby with you. He loves the car. Unless you encounter one of these...
then as quickly as the brake touches the floor he looks like this. and if you happen to stop at one of these...you get this.
Don't worry, it's not permanent. The second you get above 30, wa-lah, he's magically back to normal.
Oh man, sometimes we have such a cute little stinker.

Who does he look like?

Tons of people say that Hayes looks like his daddy ...

Chrisbut he also gets a lot of people saying that he looks like his cousin Navie...

but nobody seems to think he looks like his momma (it's okay, I don't think so either).

He's already changed so much!

Week 1
Coming home - This picture makes me want to run and snuggle his newness!
Happy Easter! (FYI-Hayes' bday will actually be on Easter in 2023)
Week 2

Week 3

Week 4

At four weeks Hayes already started rolling onto his side and is so good at holding his head up by himself.

Week 5

Week 6

We have such an active baby! Most of the time when I go and get Hayes out of his crib (since six weeks) he had wiggled himself sideways. He also HATES being swaddled in his blanket unless his arms can be free to move about.

Week 7

His signature waking up pout face...

I can't believe our little baby is already
2 months old now!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and he got his first shots. It was the first time I've ever heard his hurt cry. It was SO SO SO heartbreaking!

Weight 11 lbs. 14 oz. (57%)

Head (27%)

Height 24 in. (86%)

Here's our little man now...

The nursery

At six weeks old our little stud slept in his own room.

Bitter-sweet...

Bitter- Can parents have separation anxiety? I find myself staring at the video monitor way too much!

Sweet-He went from taking cat naps to sleeping about five and a half hours in a row. Mommy is no longer a sleepless zombie.

But more bitter because this means my baby is getting big!
This was his first night in his crib.
Here's some pictures of the nursery. Yep, it's finally done. Putting the room together was so fun! Besides Breklyn making the darling rug, I enlisted Kam and my aunt Meri and we got our creative on and basically made it all. Seriously, the bumper pad and skirt fabric came from a Pottery Barn table runner we found in San Antonio, then we used the extra fabric for a lamp shade and pieces of the quilt. Kami made the sweet tree picture and I tried to copy it with an owl to match (her's turned out way better). I found out that it is harder than you think to find single colored gumballs on the internet and with a little paint and a new knob, ta-dah, Chris' old table is transformed into something new.
